Join the Office of Youth Services (OYS) and make a difference in the lives of Manchester youth! As an AmeriCorps member, you will create and manage a support framework for at-risk students, collaborating with community partners to build a brighter future for our City’s youth.

The Office of Youth Services (OYS) is a City department in Manchester, NH exclusively focused on youth in our community. With services and support both in school and in the community, OYS seeks to foster an environment where all you can be safe, happy, and healthy.

Manchester, NH is the largest City north of Boston with 120,000 residents, including 15,000 public school students in grades K-12. Working in the 8 public middle and high schools, OYS provides mentoring, coaching, and counseling free of charge to over 400 students annually.

The AmeriCorps role with OYS will focus on creating a referral, case management, and client support framework for students referred through the Manchester ACERT program (Adverse Childhood Experience Response Team). This role will work to create systems while also providing direct support to a caseload of students referred through ACERT. This role will collaborate with ACERT partner organizations to establish client support pathways in Manchester.

Role responsibilities:

  1. Creating systems for referral, case management, and client support for students referred through ACERT.
  2. Managing cases and providing direct support to a caseload of students referred through ACERT.
  3. Collaborating with ACERT partner organizations to establish client support pathways in Manchester.
  4. Working alongside OYS direct-service staff to implement youth support services and programs.
  5. Researching evidence-based practices and best practices for positive youth development.

This role is directly supervised by the OYS Youth Services Manager while working closely with direct-service staff based in the schools.

Training will include suicide prevention, Youth Mental Health First Aid, Know & Tell, and OYS department onboarding, as well as other pertinent trainings as needed.
