At the Boys & Girls Club, we provide daily access to a diverse array of programs across three impact areas: Academic Success, Healthy Living, and Character and Citizenship.
We are currently seeking dedicated members to serve as mentors for a portfolio of at-risk students, fostering regular check-ins, developing community relationships and resources, and connecting students with intensive services such as academic support, service learning, and community engagement projects. Additionally, members will create a structured framework for extended learning opportunities and expanded career awareness.
Engaging in interventions is a key aspect of the role, involving:
- Developing trusting relationships with youth, stabilizing those in crisis, and setting goals.
- Increasing the resiliency of youth through social and emotional development interventions.
- Developing the human capital of youth, including career exploration and aspirations support.
- Encouraging parent engagement.
In addition to academic mentoring, AmeriCorps members will be assigned to one of the following program areas: Physical Education, Aquatics, Cultural Arts, Education, Technology, or Social Recreation. Members must be available to serve from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Monday to Friday.
