Our Club offers a positive and secure environment, where programs are crafted to impart skills and behaviors essential for a successful transition to adulthood. Grounded in youth development strategies, our initiatives nurture a sense of belonging, competence, usefulness, and influence—key ingredients proven to cultivate self-confidence and self-esteem.

Our youth development strategy aspires to achieve the following outcomes:

  1. Positive Self-Identity
  2. Educational, Employment, Emotional, and Cultural Competencies
  3. Community and Civic Involvement
  4. Health and Well-Being
  5. A Moral Compass

At the Boys & Girls Club, we provide daily access to a diverse array of programs across three impact areas: Academic Success, Healthy Living, and Character and Citizenship.

We are currently seeking dedicated members to serve as mentors for a portfolio of at-risk students, fostering regular check-ins, developing community relationships and resources, and connecting students with intensive services such as academic support, service learning, and community engagement projects. Additionally, members will create a structured framework for extended learning opportunities and expanded career awareness.

Engaging in interventions is a key aspect of the role, involving:

  1. Developing trusting relationships with youth, stabilizing those in crisis, and setting goals.
  2. Increasing the resiliency of youth through social and emotional development interventions.
  3. Developing the human capital of youth, including career exploration and aspirations support.
  4. Encouraging parent engagement.

In addition to academic mentoring, AmeriCorps members will be assigned to one of the following program areas: Physical Education, Aquatics, Cultural Arts, Education, Technology, or Social Recreation. Members must be available to serve from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Monday to Friday. Join us in making a lasting impact on the lives of young individuals, as we work together to create a supportive and enriching environment that fosters growth and success.
