75% off Color of the Week launches with revamp of Goodwill discounts
December 19, 2024
A new 75% off Color of the Week sale is being introduced as Goodwill NNE’s discount structure revamps in an effort to simplify their everyday sales.
Effective Sunday, Jan. 5, 2025, shoppers can take advantage of a 75% off Color of the Week alongside the well-known 50% off sale. This means that $1.50 Sundays, Stuff A Bag Mondays, and senior and veteran discount Tuesdays will be discontinued, and the following, simplified discounts will take their place:
- Daily 50% off tag Color of the Week remains the same
- Daily 75% off tag Color of the Week will be introduced
- Daily 15% off for seniors and veterans
“These changes make our everyday sales easier to understand and more accessible to our shoppers,” said Goodwill NNE’s Vice President of Retail, Dave Robison. “You don’t have to wait for specific days for great deals. The 50% and 75% off sales will be available every day, along with our 15% discount for seniors and veterans. We want everyone to be able to hunt for treasures when it works best for them.”
This means that no matter what day you visit a store, there will always be a 50% and 75% off sale happening. These changes are just another part of Goodwill’s sustainability efforts to keep items in use and out of landfills. Discounts give shoppers a bargain and help to clear old merchandise to make room for fresh goods.
Here is an example lifecycle of an item: A teddy bear is donated and priced with a yellow price tag at $4. The bear sits on the shelf for a few weeks. The bear (and all other yellow-tagged items) is then offered at 50% off for a week, lowering the teddy bear’s price to $2. The next week the bear (and all other yellow-tagged items) is 75% off, making it just $1 compared to the $1.50 it would have previously been priced at on $1.50 Sunday.
To find which tag colors are on sale in any given week, customers can look for the signs across Goodwill stores, or visit goodwillnne.org/shop for the digital sales calendar.
