Hundred Nights Volunteer Coordinator
Position Summary
Position details
Hundred Nights provides shelter and crisis related services to individuals at risk of or experiencing homelessness, providing 48 overnight beds, access to basic need items, and case management support. Help us increase volunteer engagement so we can better serve our community!

Hundred Nights is a year-round low-barrier emergency shelter and resource center that provides shelter and crisis-related resources to individuals and families at risk of or experiencing homelessness in southwestern New Hampshire.
The agency was founded in 2010 to provide homeless residents with a warm place to stay during the coldest one hundred nights of the year when beds were unavailable at other shelters. Now, 15 years into our mission, Hundred Nights continues to help those who have no other option.
Our overnight shelter provides 48 beds to men, women and families each night. Our resource center serves an additional 100+ people each month providing meals, shower, laundry, public restrooms, access to case management services, and access to our donation center for clothing and personal care items. In the colder winter months, our resource center remains open 24/7 to provide a warm place out of the elements for our community members with no place else to go.
With housing becoming increasingly difficult to find and/or keep with increased rental costs, Hundred Nights has seen many more people seeking a bed and our other services to meet their basic needs of food and shelter.

The VISTA Member will be focused on helping Hundred Nights develop program initiatives around recruiting, training, retaining, and recognizing volunteers. This will include creating a comprehensive onboarding and training program to improve our volunteer interactions with the people we serve. The VISTA will also work on our overall needs assessment of the volunteer opportunities at HN. This will help us build our volunteer opportunities, including providing larger group options for our business and other organizational partner connections. The VISTA will also help provide social media requests for support, including our in-kind food, clothing, and personal care donation needs. By improving our programing and shifting administrative tasks to a committed group of volunteers, this individual will help us better serve our community by allowing for more direct service from other members of our team who currently spend a significant amount of their time on those tasks.
