When online college didn’t work, Neo became a phlebotomist with some help
September 29, 2021
When high school ends, it can be challenging deciding what to do next.
The past two years have been especially difficult for many recent graduates who started college online due to COVID-19. Neo realized quickly that online college was not for her, but she wasn’t sure what to do. Fortunately, she was enrolled in the Workforce Solutions COVID-19 Youth Cohort grant. Through this program, Neo learned basic skills like resumé and cover letter writing. She met other youth in the same position, so she knew she was not alone. Most importantly, she discovered self-confidence and motivation to explore her future with hope.
Now Neo is pointed in a direction to work as a phlebotomist. This will provide stability and opportunities for growth. She is excited to confidently enter the workforce. We are proud of Neo and wish her the best as she pursues her goal.
