M&T Bank Donates $25,000 and Launches Halloween Costume Drive to Support Goodwill NNE

M&T Bank strengthens its partnership with Goodwill Northern New England by donating $25,000 to the SNAP Employment and Training program. This program helps people overcome barriers to employment through job training, career counseling, and personalized support.

To further support Goodwill’s mission, M&T Bank launches a Halloween costume drive that promotes sustainability and community giving. Bank branches across Maine and southern New Hampshire collect gently used Halloween costumes, helping families access affordable options while reducing waste. These donations contribute to Goodwill’s reuse initiatives, which keep more than 50 million pounds of goods out of landfills each year.

Phil Cohen, M&T Bank’s Regional President in Maine, encourages families to thrift their costumes. “It’s affordable, planet-friendly, and a meaningful way to support future generations. We’re excited to make sustainable choices easier for families in our region.”

This collaboration addresses a growing concern: Americans throw away 83 percent of Halloween costumes each year. It also celebrates a major milestone for Goodwill, which recently helped 10,000 people reach stability through its workforce programs.

Tripp Harrison, President and CEO of Goodwill NNE, highlights the impact of the partnership. “M&T Bank’s support strengthens our SNAP Employment and Training program. Together, we remove barriers and connect jobseekers to education, training, and sustainable jobs.”

Goodwill’s workforce programs serve communities across Maine, New Hampshire, and northern Vermont. These programs support people experiencing homelessness, living with disabilities, or reentering the workforce after incarceration. With help from M&T Bank, Goodwill continues to change lives through meaningful work and sustainable choices.
