Honorine embraces inclusivity by mentoring New American and incarcerated colleagues

Honorine Ngenga is a key player in Goodwill NNE’s workplace inclusion. She has an amazing spirit and a natural ability when working with people from different nationalities and backgrounds. She truly cares deeply for the people she works with as a shift supervisor in the Gorham, Maine warehouse.

Honorine speaks seven languages. She helps some of her New American teammates understand their jobs and she helps colleagues to recognize each other cross-culturally. For example, one manager wanted to know how to say, “Happy Birthday” in Swahili. Honorine bridges the path and creates a strong unified culture in the warehouse.

Honorine supports and leads the women from the Women’s Reentry Work Program. This program is for women incarcerated, who work at the Goodwill warehouse. Some women said they wanted to stay at the warehouse because they wanted to work with Honorine. She has made an incredibly positive impact on the lives of so many people. Honorine has a phenomenal attitude. It shows in her work and her relationships with her teammates. She is a trusted supervisor and mentor to many. We are so grateful to Honorine for her amazing work.

Congratulations to Honorine for the 2023 Employee of the Year.
