Join us at our Auburn, ME Goodwill store from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, July 11 for a free clothing Repair Fair with Maine GearShare! Whether you wore out the hand-knit sweater Grandma gave you or took your school stress out on your backpack last semester – this is for you.

Have a favorite piece of clothing in need of repairs? Bring it over to our Goodwill Auburn store at 939 Turner Street during the pop-up event and Maine GearShare staff and volunteers will give it the new life it needs – for free! And that’s not even the best part – while your item is being repaired, you get to shop for your next treasure all while knowing you’re supporting two local nonprofits.

Common repairs include: stuck or misaligned zippers, nylon with rips, puffy coat holes, broken backpack buckles and straps, seam failures and more. Some hard goods can be repaired on a case-by-case basis. Unsure? Bring it and find out!

This is your chance to finally repair that coat that mice ate through in the back of your closet or fix that zipper on your backpack just in time to head back to school. We hope to see you there!

Please note: In an effort to help as many people as possible, we may limit people to one repaired item — this is entirely dependent on the team’s capacity during the Repair Fair. If you have more, you’re welcome to bring them and speak to Maine GearShare staff about their repair rates to be fixed at a later time.
