This position with the Central PHN will aim to bolster recruitment, engagement, and retention efforts, update unit member support documents as well as coordinate, train, and track regional volunteer service hours. These activities will build the region’s health response capacity. A member in this role will:

  • Co-create communications and outreach systems that engage partners informing them of the Central NH PHN, about the regional emergency response plan, current and past initiatives, reach, and how to be involved.
  • Update volunteer documentation within the Regional Public Health Emergency Annex (RPHEA.)
  • Support volunteers in updating inventory within the existing tracking system.
  • Have a functioning knowledge of the Health Information Management System (HIMS.)
  • Upload and maintain up-to-date information in HIMS.
  • Engage, support, retain, develop, track, and recruit Central NH volunteers.
  • Update volunteer member support documents.

Goodwill NNE’s Public Health AmeriCorps program helps build the public health workforce in Maine and New Hampshire. We partner with health centers, substance misuse recovery centers, public schools and other types of agencies meeting public health needs to provide AmeriCorps members. Those members: engage youth in programs to prevent substance misuse; create food security programs, provide vaccination education, create community integration opportunities for people with disabilities, and research and implement public health interventions to meet the pressing public health needs of underserved communities. Members gain strong skills through their experiences and often get hired for professional public health positions immediately upon completion!
